Visual Bird Sounds: Andy Thomas

Australian artist Andy Thomas specializes in creating 'audio life forms': beautiful abstract shapes that react to sounds.

We made this film his exhibition Visual Bird Sounds, curated by LEV Festival at a former mine shaft turned into art centre in Mieres (Asturias, Spain).

The exhibition is a wide-format audiovisual installation featuring fascinating, generative sound and visual shapes inspired by the fauna and flora of remote landscapes from all over the planet, including the local area.

This show is promoted by Mieres’ Town Council Cultural Department and curated by L.E.V. (Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual). Pozu Santa Bárbara is the first Asturian mine shaft declared as a protected heritage of the first order, as it has been listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC) since 2008.
