MIND THE FILM is an independent filmmaking practice that fosters new ideas through its digitally handcrafted films.

We specialize in documentary story-telling with a penchant for art, technology and music narratives. Our work across the creative industries counts over 1,000 filmed interviews with avant-garde contemporary artists and thinkers.

After successfully venturing through the digital revolution that transformed film as a medium, we are early embracers of post-digital philosophies. We master and blend digital and analogue technologies for an accurate aesthetic and cinematic feel.

In our productions we single-handedly cover the entire creative and technical filmmaking process, from the concept and narrative design, through production and filming, to editing, post-production and music composition. Solid and engaging story-telling alongside expressive editing are core elements of all our films.

We work both independently and on commission, and we are currently residents at the Somerset House Studios – a space for creators who are tackling bold ideas, engaging with urgent issues and pioneering new technologies.

Borja Alexandre
Co-founder and Director

Borja acquired the habit of watching the world through the lens of a camera when he was 12, and by 25 he had founded his first production company and directed his first weekly TV programme about cinema. He became a Senior Broadcast Editor and filmmaker for over a decade, until his love for documentary story-telling inspired him to create MIND THE FILM. His life-long music composing activities and uncountable adventures in film, documentaries and new media projects have given him the ability to see any story from the perspectives of the audience, the cinematographer and the editor, which means, in practice, that he always looks for the elegant approach. He holds a Master’s Degree in Interactive Digital Services and New Media (Institut national de l’audiovisuel – Sorbonne, Paris) and BA (Hons) in Audiovisual Communications (University of Navarra, Spain).

Susanna Garcia
Co-founder and Director

Susanna started analysing media and its messages at an early age, encouraged by the CEO of a pioneering advertising agency – her grandfather. After a decade of managerial experience in production and strategic communications, she co-founded MIND THE FILM to use her expertise in service to the arts. She is a dedicated and focused producer applying razor-sharp attention to narrative detail, with a delicate aesthetic sensibility. Susanna is also a curator and restless catalyst of art, tech and music projects. She received a Distinction at MA level in Art Theory from Chelsea College of Arts, London and a BA (Hons) in Media Studies from Ramon Llull University, Barcelona. She also has studies in Media Design and Creative Writing.
